Honor Magic V6 – A Battery‑First Foldable

The Honor Magic V6 has arrived, and instead of obsessing over a thinner device, Honor took a new route by focusing on a massive battery—nearly 7,000 mAh.
At first glance, the Magic V6 looks a lot like the Magic V5 we reviewed a few months ago. The core design is essentially the same, as is most of the spec sheet:
- 7.95‑inch inner display
- 6.52‑inch outer display
- 50 MP + 64 MP telephoto + 50 MP ultra‑wide camera trio
- Upgrade to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
- IP68/69 rating (a step ahead of Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold)
What really stands out is that Honor isn’t chasing the thinnest possible design any more.
The Magic V5 was already thin at 9 mm, while Samsung was taking the crown with its Galaxy Z Fold 7. The Magic V6 measures 9 mm for its red, black, and gold variants, and 8.7 mm when folded in white. It’s not a step back in thinness, but Honor clearly prioritized other improvements this time—rightly so. Most foldables are thin enough now, so the “race” is essentially over. The race is over, and everyone won.
A Massive Battery

Honor packed an 6,660 mAh silicon‑carbon battery inside the V6. In a market where many flagships hover just above 5,000 mAh, this is a huge leap. Compared with the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 4,400 mAh cell, Honor is practically laughing.
- 80 W fast charging (wired)
- Wireless charging support
Battery life is predictably excellent. In my early‑software testing, the Magic V6 easily powers a full day of use, and I can imagine many users getting two days out of a single charge, depending on usage. This is a notable jump from the Magic V5’s 5,800 mAh battery.
Design & Build
The device feels gorgeous. The red & gold colorways I’ve been using look stunning in person, and the faux‑suede leather back provides a perfect grip.

Displays
Honor has been teasing this device as “crease‑less,” but the inner display does have a crease—just a very subtle one. The company claims a 44 % reduction in crease visibility.
Other improvements:
- Inner display: less reflective, new impact‑resistant structure, 4,320 Hz PWM dimming, and other eye‑comfort tweaks.
- Outer display: protected by a “silicon‑nitride‑based NanoCrystal Shield glass” with up to 5,600 ultra‑precise coating layers and anti‑reflective properties.
- Stylus works on both inner and outer screens.
Software
The Magic V6 ships with MagicOS 10, based on Android 16. While I’m not a fan of the shoe‑horned “Liquid Glass” mimicry, Honor adds useful cross‑ecosystem features:
- Wireless file transfer to iPhone or Mac (requires an app on the Apple device).
- Second‑display mode for a Mac.
- Notification mirroring to Apple Watch.
Availability
The Honor Magic V6 will launch later this month in China, with a global rollout throughout the second half of 2026, “subject to each market’s timeline,” says Honor.
