Gemini app starts rolling out Personal Intelligence globally
Source: 9to5Google

After the US launch, Google is bringing Personal Intelligence to Gemini users around the world (excluding Europe).
What is Personal Intelligence?
Personal Intelligence can access text, photos, and videos from Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and other Workspace apps, Google Photos, YouTube, Search, Maps, and more first‑party apps. This data is used to personalize Gemini’s responses without requiring any additional prompting from the user.
Example Use Cases
Get tailored shopping recommendations
Looking for the perfect bag to match your new shoes? Personal Intelligence surfaces options that reflect your recent purchases, preferred brands, and style, even suggesting subtle details like hardware that complements your gold shoes.
Troubleshoot without the headache
Explain a tech issue—even if you don’t remember the exact product you bought—and receive specific debugging steps (e.g., power cycling, factory reset) tailored to the device model found in your purchase receipts.
Navigate tight schedules with ease
During a layover, Gemini automatically suggests food options that match your tastes, taking into account your arrival and departure gates, walking time between them, and the time you have before the next flight boards.
Create a custom travel itinerary
Instead of generic “top 10” lists, get recommendations for hidden gems in a city (e.g., Chicago) based on your unique interests and past favorites, helping you discover local eateries and neighborhoods that suit you.
Discover a new hobby
Find activities that align with your interests—sometimes revealing passions you didn’t realize you had, such as poetry for someone who enjoys reading and nature.
Availability and Settings
Personal Intelligence is an opt‑in feature. You can choose which apps Gemini can access at any time. Once enabled, it is active by default for every prompt, but you can disable it via a new toggle in the Tools menu.
The worldwide launch excludes the EEA, Switzerland, and the UK. It is initially available to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers, with free users receiving access over the next few weeks.
