Source: Engadget
Feature Overview
Spotify is rolling out a new feature that lets Premium users reorder the tracks in their playlists based on key and BPM (beats per minute). This builds on the custom transitions feature introduced in August of last year, which allowed users to create uninterrupted progressions and eliminate awkward silences between songs.
How to Use Smart Reorder
- Open a playlist and tap Mix.
- Tap the Edit button.
- Scroll down to the Smart Reorder option.
- Tap Smart Reorder to automatically rearrange songs according to their keys and BPM.
- Tap Save to apply the changes to the playlist.
Usage Statistics
- Since the launch of custom transitions, users have streamed over 220 hours of mixed playlists.
Popular Examples
- The Weeknd – “Wake Me Up” transitioning into “After Hours”
- Flo Rida – “Low” transitioning into Rihanna’s “S&M”
