Express Pay
The March 2026 Pixel Drop adds Express Pay to the Pixel Watch. You can make NFC payments without first opening the Google Wallet app. Choose between “Tap to pay and transit” or “Transit only.” Just turn and tap your Pixel Watch 2+ to a retail terminal. When the watch is unlocked, it uses your default card (e.g., Visa ••1234) for in‑store purchases and transit rides.
Phone‑left‑behind Alerts
Pixel Watch 2+ can now send an alert if you leave your phone behind. If the connection between the watch and phone is lost, the phone can automatically lock. This feature works with Pixel 8+ devices and Pixel Watch 2+.
Faster Identity Checks
When a Pixel Watch and phone are paired, they can be used for quicker Identity Checks. PIN options are available for secure access on Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 9+, and Pixel Watch 3+.
One‑handed Gestures
Google is bringing one‑handed gestures to the Pixel Watch 3 (previously introduced on the PW4). These gestures let you quickly:
- Snooze an alarm
- Control timers
- Answer calls
- Take pictures
- Scroll through notifications
Satellite SOS Expansion
Satellite SOS on the Pixel Watch 4 is expanding beyond the continental United States to include Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, and Europe, allowing you to reach emergency services when out of cellular range.
Android Earthquake Alerts
Pixel Watch 2+ will receive Android Earthquake Alerts even when not paired to a phone, providing a few seconds of warning before shaking starts.
