국제행사를 준비할 때 가장 큰 부담 중 하나는 통역 인프라 구축이다. 전문 통역사와 통역부스, 전용 장비를 준비하는 데 적지 않은 비용과 시간이 필요하기 때문이다. 최근에는 이러한 장벽을 AI가 대체할 수 있을지에 대한 관심도 높아지고 있다.

AI 서비스 기업 퓨어프롬프트는 제주에서 열린 국제 예술 교류 행사에 실시간 다국어 회의 통역 솔루션 ‘이음(EUM)’을 적용하고 현장 운영을 성공적으로 마쳤다고 밝혔다.

이번 실증은 제주대학교 RISE사업단 창업지원팀 지원으로 진행된 ‘2027 제주국제예술포럼(가칭) 비전 스케치’ 행사에서 이뤄졌다. 행사는 제주대학교 산학협력관에서 개최됐으며, 예술과 교육, 관광, 공간기획 분야 전문가들이 모여 제주형 글로벌 예술 축제의 방향성을 논의했다.

현장에는 일본 오사카 심포니 오케스트라 수석 악장인 코지 모리시타를 비롯해 국내외 문화예술 관계자와 학계 전문가들이 참석했다.

앱 설치 없이 구현한 실시간 다국어 회의

이음은 발표자와 참석자의 음성을 실시간으로 인식한 뒤 각 사용자가 선택한 언어로 내용을 전달하는 AI 기반 회의 통역 서비스다.

특징은 발표자와 청중 모두 자신의 언어를 그대로 사용할 수 있다는 점이다. 발표자가 일본어로 발표하면 한국어 사용자는 한국어로 내용을 듣고, 반대로 한국어 사용자가 질문하면 발표자는 자신의 언어로 질문 내용을 이해할 수 있다.

당초 1시간가량 예정됐던 통역 지원은 현장 토론이 활발하게 이어지면서 약 2시간 30분 동안 진행됐다. 긴 시간 동안 다국적 참석자 간 질의응답과 토론이 이어졌음에도 별도 통역 인력이나 전문 장비 없이 회의가 운영됐다.

특히 참가자들은 전용 애플리케이션 설치 없이 개인 스마트폰과 이어폰만 활용해 행사에 참여했다. 기존 국제회의에서 일반적으로 사용되는 통역부스와 수신기, 전문 회의 장비가 필요하지 않았다는 점이 눈길을 끌었다.

행사를 주최한 도레미컴퍼니는 제주를 기반으로 문화예술 프로젝트와 국제 교류 프로그램을 기획해온 기업이다. 이번 포럼 역시 제주가 가진 역사와 문화적 자산을 바탕으로 글로벌 예술 축제의 가능성을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.

고정은 도레미컴퍼니 대표는 “국제 교류가 활발해질수록 언어 장벽을 낮추는 환경이 중요해지고 있다”며 “해외 참가자와 국내 전문가들이 보다 자연스럽게 의견을 나눌 수 있었다는 점이 의미 있었다”고 말했다.

퓨어프롬프트는 이번 실증을 통해 AI 통역 기술이 단순 번역 서비스를 넘어 국제회의 운영 인프라로 활용될 수 있는 가능성을 확인했다고 설명했다.

이상화 퓨어프롬프트 대표는 “국제행사의 핵심은 발표뿐 아니라 질문과 토론이 자연스럽게 이어지는 것”이라며 “모바일 웹 기반으로 누구나 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 다국어 소통 환경을 만드는 것이 목표”라고 말했다.

회사는 향후 실시간 음성 인식과 다국어 번역, 음성합성 기술을 고도화해 발표자의 음성과 현장감을 유지하면서도 각국 참가자가 자신의 언어로 회의에 참여할 수 있는 환경을 구축한다는 계획이다.

“Is an International Conference Possible Without Interpretation Booths?”… PurePrompt Demonstrates AI Interpretation at International Event in Jeju

One of the biggest burdens when preparing for international events is establishing interpretation infrastructure. This is because preparing professional interpreters, interpretation booths, and dedicated equipment requires significant cost and time. Recently, there has been growing interest in whether AI can replace these barriers.

AI service company PurePrompt announced that it successfully completed on-site operations by applying its real-time multilingual conference interpretation solution ‘EUM’ to an international art exchange event held in Jeju.

This demonstration took place at the ‘2027 Jeju International Arts Forum (tentative name) Vision Sketch’ event, which was conducted with the support of the Startup Support Team of the RISE Project Group at Jeju National University. The event was held at the Industry-Academic Cooperation Center of Jeju National University, where experts in the fields of art, education, tourism, and spatial planning gathered to discuss the direction of a Jeju-style global arts festival.

The event was attended by Koji Morishita , principal concertmaster of the Osaka Symphony Orchestra, as well as domestic and international cultural and artistic figures and academic experts.

Real-time multilingual meeting implemented without app installation

Eum is an AI-based conference interpretation service that recognizes the voices of presenters and attendees in real time and delivers the content in the language selected by each user.

A key feature is that both the presenter and the audience can use their own languages. If the presenter speaks in Japanese, Korean speakers listen to the content in Korean, and conversely, if a Korean speaker asks a question, the presenter can understand the question in their own language.

Interpretation support, originally scheduled for about an hour, continued for approximately two and a half hours as lively discussions took place on-site. Despite the long duration of Q&A and discussions among multinational participants, the meeting was conducted without separate interpreters or specialized equipment.

Notably, participants took part in the event using only their personal smartphones and earphones, without installing a dedicated application. It was noteworthy that the interpretation booths, receivers, and professional conference equipment typically used in conventional international conferences were not required.

Doremi Company, the organizer of the event, is a Jeju-based firm that plans cultural and artistic projects and international exchange programs. This forum was also organized to explore the potential of a global arts festival based on Jeju’s history and cultural assets.

Ko Jeong-eun, CEO of Doremi Company, said, “As international exchanges become more active, an environment that lowers language barriers is becoming increasingly important,” adding, “It was meaningful that overseas participants and domestic experts were able to exchange opinions more naturally.”

PurePrompt explained that through this demonstration, it confirmed the potential for AI interpretation technology to be utilized as an infrastructure for operating international conferences, going beyond simple translation services.

Lee Sang-hwa, CEO of PurePrompt, said, “The key to international events is not just presentations, but also questions and discussions that flow naturally,” adding, “Our goal is to create a multilingual communication environment based on mobile web that anyone can easily use.”

The company plans to further advance real-time voice recognition, multilingual translation, and speech synthesis technologies to establish an environment where participants from various countries can join meetings in their own languages while preserving the presenter’s voice and sense of presence.

「通訳ブースなしで国際会議可能か」…ピュアプロンプト、済州国際イベントでAI通訳を実証

国際イベントを準備する際の最大の負担の一つは、通訳インフラの構築だ。専門通訳者と通訳ブース、専用装備を準備するのに少なくない費用と時間が必要だからだ。最近では、こうした障壁をAIが取り替えることができるかに対する関心も高まっている。

AIサービス企業ピュアプロンプトは、済州で開かれた国際芸術交流行事にリアルタイム多言語会議通訳ソリューション「EUM」を適用して現場運営を成功裏に終えたと明らかにした。

今回の実証は済州大学RISE事業団創業支援チーム支援で行われた「2027済州国際芸術フォーラム（仮称）ビジョンスケッチ」の行事で行われた。行事は済州大学産学協力館で開催され、芸術と教育、観光、空間企画分野の専門家が集まって済州型グローバル芸術祭の方向性を議論した。

現場には、日本の大阪交響楽団のシニア楽章である小路森下をはじめ、国内外の文化芸術関係者と学界専門家たちが参加した。

アプリをインストールせずに実装したリアルタイム多言語会議

これは発表者と出席者の音声をリアルタイムで認識した後、各ユーザーが選択した言語で内容を伝えるAIベースの会議通訳サービスだ。

特徴は発表者と観客の両方が自分の言語をそのまま使えるという点だ。発表者が日本語で発表すれば韓国語ユーザーは韓国語で内容を聞き、逆に韓国語ユーザーが質問すれば発表者は自分の言語で質問内容を理解できる。

当初1時間ほど予定された通訳支援は現場討論が活発に続いて約2時間30分間進行された。長い間、多国籍出席者間の質疑応答と討論が続いたにもかかわらず、別途通訳人材や専門機器なしで会議が運営された。

特に参加者は、専用アプリケーションをインストールせずに、個人のスマートフォンとイヤホンだけを活用してイベントに参加した。既存の国際会議で一般的に使用される通訳ブースや受信機、専門会議機器が不要だという点が注目を集めた。

イベントを主催したドレミカンパニーは済州を基盤に文化芸術プロジェクトと国際交流プログラムを企画してきた企業だ。今回のフォーラムも済州が持つ歴史と文化的資産をもとにグローバル芸術祭の可能性を模索するために設けられた。

ピュアプロンプトは今回の実証を通じて、AI通訳技術が単純翻訳サービスを超えて国際会議運営インフラとして活用できる可能性を確認したと説明した。

理想化ピュアプロンプト代表は「国際行事の核心は発表だけでなく質問と討論が自然につながるもの」とし「モバイルウェブベースで誰でも簡単に使用できる多言語コミュニケーション環境を作ることが目標」と話した。

同社は今後のリアルタイム音声認識と多言語翻訳、音声合成技術を高度化し、発表者の音声と臨場感を維持しながらも、各国の参加者が自分の言語で会議に参加できる環境を構築する計画だ。

无需安装应用程序即可实现实时多语言会议

Eum 是一款基于人工智能的会议口译服务，能够实时识别演讲者和与会者的声音，并以每位用户选择的语言提供内容。

其关键特点在于，演讲者和听众都可以使用各自的语言。如果演讲者用日语讲话，韩国听众就可以听到韩语内容；反之，如果韩国听众提问，演讲者也可以用韩语理解问题。

原计划约一小时的口译服务，由于现场讨论热烈，持续了约两个半小时。尽管来自不同国家的与会者进行了长时间的问答和讨论，但会议并未配备单独的口译员或专用设备。

值得注意的是，与会者仅使用个人智能手机和耳机即可参加此次活动，无需安装任何专用应用程序。同样值得注意的是，此次活动也无需传统国际会议中常用的同声传译间、接收器和专业会议设备。

本次活动的组织方Doremi公司是一家总部位于济州岛的企业，主要策划文化艺术项目和国际交流项目。此次论坛旨在探讨以济州岛的历史和文化资源为基础，举办全球艺术节的潜力。

L’un des principaux obstacles à la préparation d’événements internationaux est la mise en place d’une infrastructure d’interprétation. En effet, la mobilisation d’interprètes professionnels, l’aménagement de cabines d’interprétation et la fourniture d’équipements dédiés représentent un coût et un investissement en temps considérables. La société de services d’IA PurePrompt a annoncé avoir mené à bien des opérations sur site en appliquant sa solution d’interprétation de conférence multilingue en temps réel « EUM » lors d’un événement d’échange artistique international organisé à Jeju.

Cette démonstration a eu lieu lors de l’événement « Esquisse de vision du Forum international des arts de Jeju 2027 » (nom provisoire), organisé avec le soutien de l’équipe d’accompagnement des start-ups du groupe de projet RISE de l’Université nationale de Jeju. L’événement s’est tenu au Centre de coopération industrie-université de l’Université nationale de Jeju, où des experts des domaines de l’art, de l’éducation, du tourisme et de l’aménagement du territoire se sont réunis pour discuter des orientations d’un festival international des arts inspiré du style de Jeju.

L’événement a réuni Koji Morishita , premier violon de l’Orchestre symphonique d’Osaka, ainsi que des personnalités culturelles et artistiques nationales et internationales et des experts universitaires.

Réunion multilingue en temps réel mise en œuvre sans installation d’application

Eum est un service d’interprétation de conférence basé sur l’IA qui reconnaît les voix des présentateurs et des participants en temps réel et diffuse le contenu dans la langue sélectionnée par chaque utilisateur.

L’une des principales caractéristiques est que le présentateur et le public peuvent utiliser leur propre langue. Si le présentateur s’exprime en japonais, les auditeurs coréens écoutent le contenu en coréen, et inversement, si un auditeur coréen pose une question, le présentateur peut la comprendre dans sa propre langue.

L’assistance en interprétation, initialement prévue pour une heure environ, s’est prolongée pendant près de deux heures et demie, au gré des échanges animés sur place. Malgré la durée des questions-réponses et des discussions entre les participants de différentes nationalités, la réunion s’est déroulée sans interprètes externes ni équipement spécialisé.

Il est à noter que les participants ont pris part à l’événement en utilisant uniquement leurs smartphones et écouteurs personnels, sans installer d’application dédiée. Il convient également de souligner que les cabines d’interprétation, les récepteurs et le matériel de conférence professionnel habituellement utilisés lors des conférences internationales classiques n’ont pas été nécessaires.

La société Doremi, organisatrice de l’événement, est une entreprise basée à Jeju qui conçoit des projets culturels et artistiques ainsi que des programmes d’échanges internationaux. Ce forum visait également à explorer le potentiel d’un festival artistique international s’appuyant sur l’histoire et le patrimoine culturel de Jeju.
