TL;DR

  • Google Meet’s AI‑powered note‑taking feature is expanding.
  • Soon you’ll be able to use the “Take Notes For Me” tool during in‑person meetings and in meetings hosted on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and more.
  • The tool can be accessed by tapping Take Notes For Me on the Google Meet home screen.

Expansion of “Take Notes For Me”

Google Meet’s “Take Notes For Me” feature debuted in 2024 alongside a suite of AI‑powered capabilities. Google reports that over 110 million users leveraged this feature last month alone.

In a recent blog post, Google announced that the feature will be expanded beyond the Meet app. “Take Notes For Me” is a Gemini‑powered tool that does more than simple transcription—it summarizes the entire conversation, delivering a full recap with detailed notes and action items.

Google plans to announce the expansion at Cloud Next ‘26, running through April 24, alongside other updates like branding options for Google Vids avatars and Gemini auto‑browse.
