X‑Plane 12 is coming to Apple Vision Pro
X‑Plane 12 is dubbed “the world’s most advanced flight simulator,” and it’s already available on macOS, Windows, and Linux. Starting with visionOS 26.4 (currently in beta), X‑Plane 12 will come to Apple Vision Pro for the first time.
visionOS 26.4 adds Nvidia CloudXR 6.0 support
visionOS 26.4 enables support for Nvidia’s CloudXR 6.0 technology. An upcoming companion app for visionOS will use CloudXR to turn Apple Vision Pro into a viewpoint for X‑Plane 12. The team behind X‑Plane announced the news today:
Later this spring, with NVIDIA CloudXR 6.0 for visionOS 26.4, Apple Vision Pro users will be able to stream immersive PC and cloud‑based experiences from NVIDIA RTX systems, including X‑Plane 12.

The companion app will automatically detect an Apple Vision Pro and stream the flight simulator to the device. By leveraging image detection through ARKit, the sim can reliably track cockpit positions, allowing you to seamlessly merge the physical and digital worlds. CloudXR also unlocks privacy‑preserving foveated streaming, delivering high‑resolution visuals with low latency while keeping gaze data protected.
Looking ahead
Spatial computing gives players a whole new way to experience their favorite games. With Apple Vision Pro and your current flight‑sim hardware, you’ll enjoy an immersive flying experience that makes training more vivid and realistic. X‑Plane 12 is likely just the first of similar immersive simulator experiences that will be enabled with visionOS 26.4.
