Updated “Results About You” tool
Google’s Results About You tool has been upgraded to detect and remove more personal information from search results. The latest update lets the tool find pages that contain ID numbers such as passport numbers, driver’s‑license numbers, and Social Security numbers.
You can enable this scanning in the tool’s settings — just open the ID numbers section in Results About You and toggle the detection on.
To help Google locate the full numbers, you need to provide at least part of each identifier:
- Driver’s‑license number – full number (considered less sensitive)
- Passport number – last four digits
- Social Security number – last four digits
ID number results detected.
Faster non‑consensual explicit imagery (NCEI) removal
The NCEI (non‑consensual explicit imagery) tool has also been improved. It now works more quickly to remove real explicit images, deepfakes, and other AI‑generated sexualized content. This type of content has surged with the rise of AI image generators, many of which do little to prevent misuse.
