Stellantis Faces $26.5 Billion EV Write‑Down

Demand for EVs has gone glacial, and one automaker after another is running aground:
- General Motors wrote off $7.6 billion.
- Ford removed $19.5 billion from its books.
- Stellantis now confronts a $26.5 billion charge for its misplaced bet on EVs.
The Jeep, Dodge, and Chrysler parent company hasn’t disclosed how much of that sum is directly tied to EV losses, but the write‑down erased about 25 percent of the company’s stock value overnight.
