Seeing new content mixed in with your YouTube Shorts? Here’s what’s going on
Source: Android Authority

TL;DR
- YouTube’s latest experiment is putting more posts in your Shorts feed.
- In addition to posts, look for image carousels featuring up to 10 pictures.
- Not everyone will be seeing these experimental changes on their account.
Overview
YouTube remains the internet’s top destination for original video content, but over its two‑decade history it has expanded to include many other media types. Besides videos, YouTube hosts posts—blog‑like entries that let creators connect with fans without uploading a new video. In a new experiment, posts may start appearing in additional places, including a refreshed look.
Where You’ll See Posts
We already have several ways to access posts:
- The creator’s Community tab.
- Scattered appearances in the Home and Subscriptions feeds.
The latest feature experiment plans to prominently feature posts mixed in with Shorts when you’re using the mobile app.
New Image Carousels
You may also notice image carousels appearing alongside Shorts. YouTube began testing images in Shorts late last year, and the effort is now ramping up to include carousels with up to 10 photos that you can swipe through. Creators can add music and text overlays to make these carousels blend more naturally with video Shorts.
Participation and Feedback
You won’t be able to choose whether you’re included in the test, but YouTube is seeking feedback. If you encounter these changes and have an opinion, you can let the platform know. Google describes this as “the first of many updates… as we continue to expand the format,” hinting at more post‑related surprises in the future.
