SeatGeek announced a new integration with Spotify, bringing a seamless ticket‑buying experience to Spotify users. When users browse an artist’s page or upcoming tour dates, ticket links powered by SeatGeek appear for concerts at participating venues, allowing a streamlined purchase process.

Venue coverage

The integration is currently available for a select group of venues where SeatGeek serves as the primary ticket seller. It includes SeatGeek’s 15 major U.S. venue partners, such as:

  • State Farm Stadium – Glendale, AZ
  • Nissan Stadium – Nashville, TN
  • AT&T Stadium – Arlington, TX

Strategic impact

With direct placement in the Spotify app, SeatGeek can reach millions of active music fans as they discover events, increasing the likelihood of converting listeners into ticket buyers.

Competition

SeatGeek continues to face competition from Ticketmaster and AXS, which command a larger share of the ticketing market through long‑term contracts with many top venues and organizers. It is estimated that Ticketmaster services 53 of the top 68 U.S. arenas. Barclays Center, which switched from Ticketmaster to SeatGeek in 2021, reversed the decision less than a year into a seven‑year agreement and returned to Ticketmaster.

Spotify’s broader ticketing ecosystem

Spotify recently announced that it has helped artists generate over $1 billion in ticket sales by linking fans with live events through its ticketing partners. The platform works with more than 45 ticketing partners, including Ticketmaster, AXS, Eventbrite, DICE, and Bandsintown.

Spotify previously experimented with direct ticket sales in 2022.

Past collaborations

SeatGeek has partnered with other popular apps before, such as Snapchat in 2018, enabling users to buy tickets directly within the social app.

Spotify’s user metrics

In its latest earnings call, Spotify reported more than 750 million monthly active users and 290 million paid subscribers. The company projects growth to 759 million users and 293 million paid subscribers in the current quarter, underscoring its focus on profitability.
