Prime Video’s new ‘Clips’ vertical video feature helps you discover TV shows and movies

Vertical video has been huge in social media ever since TikTok took off. But 2026 seems to be the year all the streaming apps try their hand at vertical too.
The vertical video wave among streaming services
- Disney+ launched vertical video in March with a feature called ‘Verts’ — read more.
- Netflix went all‑in last week with its own ‘Clips’ vertical video feed — details here.
Now Prime Video is joining the trend, also using the ‘Clips’ name.
What is Clips?
Clips is a scrollable, short‑form vertical video feed that Prime Video first tested for NBA coverage. The feature is now launching widely, “expanding to include moments from movies and series across the Prime Video experience.”
How it works
According to the official press release:
To get started, scroll down to the Clips carousel on the Prime Video mobile home page and tap any clip. You will enter a full‑screen vertical feed with more personalized clips to browse.
From any clip, you can watch the full title, rent or buy it, subscribe to access it, save the title to a watchlist, or “like” the clip and share it with a friend. Every time you visit the experience, you’ll see something new based on your viewing history.
Press release
If you don’t see Clips in your Prime Video app yet, make sure you are running the most recent version. The rollout is gradual.
Availability and rollout
- Initially rolling out to select customers in the United States.
- Supported on iOS, Android, and Fire tablets.
- Expected to become fully available across these devices this summer.
Content scope
It’s still unclear whether Clips will be limited to Amazon‑produced titles or if third‑party subscriptions (e.g., the recent Apple TV‑Peacock bundle) will also receive the vertical treatment.
