The display crease has been one of the biggest downsides of foldables, and it’s one that we haven’t really seen fixed. But that might all change soon, as both Oppo and Honor are teasing a wave of foldables that don’t have a crease.

Honor Magic V6

Honor’s upcoming Magic V6 is set to debut at MWC on March 1. Executive Wang Fei shared images on Weibo that show a foldable that, by all accounts, looks like it doesn’t have a crease.

According to a report from GSMArena (source), Honor has hinted at a new “Super Steel Hinge” that improves durability. The company also suggests that the updated design doesn’t compromise on battery life, thinness, or IP68/69 dust‑ and water‑resistance.

Oppo Find N6

A video shared by Sparrows News (YouTube) shows behind‑the‑scenes footage of Oppo’s Find N6 production line, demonstrating that the device doesn’t develop a crease even after substantial use. The unit was subjected to 170,000 fold/unfold cycles on an automated testing line and still showed no visible crease, according to GSMArena (source).

While these results are promising, real‑world durability will ultimately determine how well the crease‑less design holds up.

The Honor Magic V6 will launch at MWC on March 1, but no firm release date has been announced for Oppo’s Find N6 yet.
