iPadOS 26.4 beta 1 now available for developers
Apple has released iPadOS 26.4 beta 1 for developers, and a public beta is expected to follow soon.
Background
Last week Apple launched iPadOS 26.3 for all users — see the announcement here. The company moved quickly to start the next beta cycle, delivering iPadOS 26.4 beta 1 today.
What to expect
-
Siri updates: Earlier reports suggested that iOS and iPadOS 26.4 would bring a revamped Siri. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman later reported that many of those upgrades have been pushed to iOS 26.5 and even iOS 27. Gurman hasn’t ruled out the possibility of some Siri features appearing in 26.4, so the first beta may reveal a few changes.

New emoji: Apple may add nine new emoji that were approved last year — see the preview here.
-
Messaging improvements: The community is still waiting for RCS‑related enhancements, which could be part of the 26.4 rollout.
As with most betas, features introduced in iPadOS 26.4 beta 1 are likely to be refined and expanded in subsequent beta releases.
Looking ahead
We’ll continue to monitor upcoming betas for additional changes and will update this post with any new findings.
