Hulu bundle subscribers can now access their watch history and recs in the Disney+ app

Background
Disney has fully owned Hulu for several years, and the platform is becoming more closely integrated with Disney+, its core streaming service. Hulu content has been available within Disney+ for some time, but Disney is now rolling out an option to link a Hulu profile to the Disney+ app. Once linked, viewers can access their Hulu watch history, watch lists, and recommendations directly within Disney+.
Profile Linking Rollout
- Eligibility: Initially limited to adult subscribers who have an eligible Disney+, Hulu Bundle or Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Bundle.
- Timeline: The feature will expand to all bundle subscribers later in 2026.
- Activation: Linking a profile is a one‑time activation.
Benefits for Non‑Bundle Users
Viewers who are not yet subscribed to Disney+ can log into the Disney+ app using the same MyDisney credentials they use for Hulu. In the app they will be able to watch a small sampling of Disney+ and ESPN content, which serves as an incentive to upgrade to a bundle while still providing access to Hulu’s library.
Disney is also testing Hulu‑specific features within the Disney+ app, such as a live guide for browsing currently airing programs.
Future of the Standalone Hulu App
Despite the deeper integration, Disney assures that the standalone Hulu app will remain available:
“All Hulu subscribers will also continue to have access to the standalone app to stream their favorite Hulu content,” the blog post states.
