GoPro announced a new processor that will power GoPro’s next generation of cameras across current and future products. The GP3 chip is slated to debut in cameras launching in Q2 2026. While specific camera models have not been disclosed, GoPro describes the GP3 as its most powerful custom imaging processor to date, offering:

- Enhanced thermal efficiency
- Extended run times for the small‑form‑factor cameras
Background: GP2 Processor
The current GoPro GP2 processor has been used in cameras released since 2021. It already incorporates AI to optimize camera settings for different shooting conditions.
