Using Fitbit Air with a Pixel Watch

Companion apps for fitness equipment typically allow only one device to be connected to a phone at a time. The same limitation applied to the Fitbit app (now Google Health), which let you pair either a fitness tracker or a Pixel Watch.

Google confirmed to Android Authority that this restriction is lifted with the new Air: you can pair both the Fitbit Air and a Pixel Watch to the same Android device simultaneously, without needing to disconnect or unpair either.

While there’s no functional benefit to wearing both devices at the same time—the Fitbit Air syncs only to the Android phone, not directly to the Pixel Watch—this flexibility eliminates the need to constantly switch between devices. The Air records workouts automatically, which you can review later in the Google Health app.

Google plans to extend this capability to other Fitbit trackers, allowing them to be used alongside a Pixel Watch as well. No specific timeline has been announced, but the feature is expected to arrive soon.
