Twilight Princess port

TL;DR

  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has been unofficially ported to Android and several other platforms.
  • The port requires the game’s ISO file but provides many graphical, audio, and gameplay options.
  • It runs on both Snapdragon and MediaTek hardware, though some Snapdragon devices may experience glitches.

Unofficial port details

A group called Twilit Realm has released an unofficial port of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Android, macOS, PC, Steam Deck, and iOS. The port, named Dusk, is a decompilation of the original game built with help from the Twilight Princess decompilation community. It uses the Aurora compatibility layer for running GameCube and Wii titles on modern platforms.

Installation on Android

  1. Obtain the game’s ISO file.
  2. Download and install the Dusk app from the project’s GitHub releases page.
  3. Launch the app and tap Select Disc Image to choose the ISO.
  4. The app will attempt to verify the ISO; verification failures can sometimes be ignored.
  5. Choose between Classic and Dusk presets (the latter adds graphical and quality‑of‑life tweaks).
  6. Connect a physical controller (touch input is not supported).

Performance and compatibility

  • Tested on a vivo X300 Ultra – experienced texture glitches that made the game unplayable. The developers note ongoing work to fix issues on devices with Qualcomm Adreno GPUs.
  • Ran smoothly on a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) and a vivo X300 Pro (MediaTek Dimensity 9500).
  • MediaTek‑powered devices are officially supported, which is notable for bleeding‑edge Android projects.

Available settings

  • Internal resolution scaling up to 11,827 × 5,376.
  • Shadow resolution up to .
  • Unlocked frame rate.
  • Gyro aiming.
  • Mirror mode (matches the Wii version).
  • Minimal HUD option.
  • Cheats and numerous gameplay tweaks.

Historical context

This isn’t the first Android version of Twilight Princess. Nintendo released a limited‑region version for the NVIDIA Shield series in the late 2010s, restricted to China. The new unofficial port expands availability and joins other community ports such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.
