TL;DR

  • Pixel Watch wearables have been failing to collect SpO2 and skin temperature data since the watches’ March update.
  • The issue can often be resolved by factory‑resetting an affected watch.
  • Google says it’s working on a permanent solution.

Update – March 10 2026 (3:42 PM ET)

A fix for missing SpO2 and skin temperature data is in the works. The PixelCommunity Reddit account has commented on a thread about these issues, stating that the Pixel Watch “team is aware of this issue and are working on a fix.”

Original article – March 9 2026 (10:28 AM ET)

Google’s March update for Pixel Watch is apparently causing problems with tracking both blood‑oxygen concentration (SpO2) and skin temperature overnight.

PiunikaWeb has rounded up several user reports that began over the weekend. Most reports involve the Pixel Watch 4, but users have also mentioned the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 2.

Reddit users describe overnight SpO2 and skin temperature data disappearing without explanation. Since both metrics are only recorded during sleep, the issue may be tied to broader sleep‑tracking complications.

Reported fixes

  • A user identified as a Product Expert on the Pixel Watch Help forum suggested clearing the Fitbit app’s cache on both the watch and the paired phone, then restarting both devices. A separate report on the Fitbit Community forum indicated that this method did not resolve the issue.

  • Several users found that factory resetting their Pixel Watch solved the problem. This approach is also endorsed by the official PixelCommunity Reddit account.

We have reached out to Google for more information about the problem and the status of a potential fix and will update this post when new details become available.
