펩타이드 전문 바이오기업 케어젠이 아시아 최대 제약·바이오 전시회에서 건강기능식품과 차세대 전달 플랫폼을 앞세워 글로벌 시장 확대 전략을 공개했다. 케어젠은 6월 16일부터 18일까지 중국 상하이에서 열린 ‘CPHI & PMEC China 2026’에 참가해 자사의 펩타이드 플랫폼 기술과 주요 제품군을 선보였다.

이번 전시에서 케어젠은 체중 관리용 경구 펩타이드 ‘Korglutide’, 근육 건강 관리 제품 ‘MyoKi’, 대사 건강 관리 제품 ‘ProGsterol’과 함께 차세대 전달 플랫폼 ‘Luxidase’를 집중 소개했다.

건강기능식품 사업 글로벌 확대 본격화

전시장 전면에 배치된 Korglutide는 체중 관리와 체성분 개선을 목표로 개발된 경구용 펩타이드다. 케어젠은 체중, BMI, 체지방, 내장지방 개선 관련 인체적용시험 결과를 공개했으며, 파우더 스틱형뿐 아니라 필름형과 캡슐형 제품까지 선보이며 제품 확장성을 강조했다.

회사는 최근 미국 신규 유통 파트너를 통해 Korglutide 공급을 시작했으며 향후 MyoKi와 ProGsterol까지 공급 제품군을 확대할 계획이다. 멕시코 시장에서는 반복 발주가 이어지고 있으며 태국과 필리핀에서는 등록 절차가 진행 중이다.

MyoKi는 항마이오스타틴 펩타이드 기반의 근육 건강 관리 제품으로 소개됐다. 체중 감량 이후 근육 유지와 회복에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 스포츠 뉴트리션과 시니어 헬스케어 시장에서도 활용 가능성이 주목받고 있다.

ProGsterol은 대사 건강 관리 제품으로 유럽 시장 진출을 준비 중이다. 핵심 성분인 Deglusterol은 유럽식품안전청(EFSA)의 긍정적 안전성 평가를 통과했으며 현재 EU 노벨푸드(Novel Food) 최종 승인 절차를 진행하고 있다.

이번 전시에서 가장 많은 관심을 받은 기술은 전달 플랫폼 ‘Luxidase’였다. Luxidase는 히알루론산 네트워크에 작용하는 10개 아미노산 기반 펩타이드로, 피부 장벽과 세포외기질(ECM)을 조절해 다양한 활성 성분의 전달 효율을 높이는 기술이다.

케어젠은 전시 현장에서 히알루론산 분해 활성과 피부 침투 개선 데이터를 공개했으며, 스킨부스터와 기능성 화장품, 경피 패치, 피하 주사제 등 다양한 분야에 적용할 수 있는 가능성을 제시했다. 특히 PDRN, 나이아신아마이드, NAD, 아데노신 등 주요 기능성 성분뿐 아니라 RNA·DNA 기반 핵산 물질 전달 가능성까지 소개하며 플랫폼 기술로서의 확장성을 강조했다.

케어젠은 현재 글로벌 제약사들과 Luxidase 기반 공동 연구와 기술 협력을 논의 중이며, 향후 건강기능식품과 화장품, 바이오의약품을 연결하는 핵심 성장 축으로 육성한다는 계획이다.

Caregen participated in ‘CPHI & PMEC China 2026,’ held in Shanghai, China from June 16 to 18, and showcased its peptide platform technology and key product lines.

Global expansion of the health functional food business begins in earnest

Korglutide, positioned at the front of the exhibition hall, is an oral peptide developed for weight management and body composition improvement. Caregen disclosed the results of human clinical trials regarding improvements in weight, BMI, body fat, and visceral fat, and emphasized product scalability by showcasing not only powder sticks but also film and capsule forms.

The company recently began supplying Korglutide through a new distribution partner in the United States and plans to expand its product portfolio to include MyoKi and ProGsterol in the future. Repeat orders are continuing in the Mexican market, while registration procedures are underway in Thailand and the Philippines.

MyoKi was introduced as a muscle health management product based on anti-myostatin peptides. With increasing interest in maintaining and recovering muscle after weight loss, its potential for use in the sports nutrition and senior healthcare markets is also attracting attention.

ProGsterol is preparing to enter the European market as a metabolic health management product. Its key ingredient, Deglusterol, has passed a positive safety assessment by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and is currently undergoing the final approval process for EU Novel Foods.

The technology that garnered the most attention at this exhibition was the delivery platform ‘Luxidase’. Luxidase is a 10-amino acid-based peptide that acts on the hyaluronic acid network and is a technology that enhances the delivery efficiency of various active ingredients by regulating the skin barrier and extracellular matrix (ECM).

At the exhibition, Caregen unveiled data on hyaluronic acid degradation activity and skin penetration improvement, presenting potential applications across various fields such as skin boosters, functional cosmetics, transdermal patches, and subcutaneous injections. In particular, the company emphasized the scalability of its platform technology by introducing not only key functional ingredients like PDRN, niacinamide, NAD, and adenosine, but also the potential for delivering RNA and DNA-based nucleic acid materials.

Caregen is currently discussing joint research and technology cooperation based on Luxidase with global pharmaceutical companies and plans to foster it as a core growth axis connecting health functional foods, cosmetics, and biopharmaceuticals in the future.

“This CPHI China was an opportunity to showcase the scalability of Caregen’s peptide technology to the global market, extending from health functional foods to functional cosmetics, delivery platforms, and new drug development,” said a Caregen official. “We plan to expand the supply of MyoKi and ProGsterol, centered on Korglutide, while simultaneously growing the Luxidase platform business in earnest.”

展示場前面に配置されたKorglutideは、体重管理と体成分改善を目指して開発された経口用ペプチドだ。ケアゼンは体重、BMI、体脂肪、内臓脂肪の改善に関する人体適用試験の結果を公開し、パウダースティック型だけでなく、フィルム型とカプセル型製品も披露し、製品の拡張性を強調した。

同社は最近、米国の新規流通パートナーを通じてKorglutideの供給を開始し、今後MyoKiとProGsterolまで供給スイートを拡大する計画だ。メキシコ市場では繰り返し発注が続いており、タイとフィリピンでは登録手続きが進行中である。

L’expansion mondiale du secteur des aliments fonctionnels pour la santé commence véritablement.

Le korglutide, présenté en tête du hall d’exposition, est un peptide oral conçu pour la gestion du poids et l’amélioration de la composition corporelle. Caregen a dévoilé les résultats d’essais cliniques menés chez l’humain, démontrant des améliorations du poids, de l’IMC, de la masse grasse et de la graisse viscérale. L’entreprise a également insisté sur la possibilité de commercialiser le produit à grande échelle en présentant non seulement des sticks de poudre, mais aussi des films et des gélules.

L’entreprise a récemment commencé à distribuer Korglutide aux États-Unis par l’intermédiaire d’un nouveau partenaire et prévoit d’élargir sa gamme de produits pour y inclure MyoKi et ProGsterol.
