제주창조경제혁신센터(이하 제주센터)가 발굴하고 투자한 우주항공 딥테크 스타트업 스펙스가 프리A 후속 투자 유치에 성공하며 성장 가능성을 입증했다. 제주센터는 초분광(Hyperspectral) 기술 기반 딥테크 기업 스펙스가 최근 프리A 라운드에서 총 30억 원 규모의 후속 투자를 유치했.

이번 투자에는 트라이앵글파트너스, 이앤벤처파트너스, 제이엑스파트너스가 참여했다.

스펙스는 빛의 파장 정보를 정밀하게 분석하는 초분광 기술을 활용해 관측 데이터의 취득부터 처리, 분석까지 전 과정을 고도화하는 기술 기업이다. 현재 우주항공과 첨단산업 분야를 중심으로 사업 확장을 추진하고 있다.

예비창업부터 후속 투자까지…제주형 딥테크 육성 성과

스펙스는 2024년 제주센터 예비창업패키지 지원사업을 통해 처음 발굴됐다. 이후 제주센터와 엠와이소셜컴퍼니(MYSC)가 공동 운용하는 ‘제주 초기스타트업 육성 펀드’의 첫 투자기업으로 선정되며 초기 투자금을 확보했다. 이어 제주센터 추천을 통해 중소벤처기업부 딥테크 팁스(TIPS)에 선정되며 연구개발비 15억 원도 지원받았다.

회사는 이를 기반으로 초분광 시제품 개발과 데이터 처리 기술 고도화를 추진해 왔으며, 이번 프리A 투자 유치를 통해 사업 확장에 필요한 성장 동력을 확보하게 됐다.

제주센터는 이번 사례를 지역 창업지원기관이 기업 발굴부터 투자, 정부 연구개발 연계, 후속 투자 유치까지 전 과정을 지원한 대표적 성과로 평가했다.

제주센터 관계자는 “예비창업 단계에서 발굴된 기업이 창업 지원과 초기 투자, 딥테크 팁스 추천, 후속 투자 연계를 거쳐 민간 투자 유치까지 이어진 사례”라며 “지역 창업지원기관이 딥테크 기업의 기술사업화와 투자 유치를 연결할 수 있다는 점을 보여준 의미 있는 성과”라고 설명했다.

이병선 제주센터 대표는 “스펙스는 예비창업패키지 발굴부터 첫 투자, 딥테크 팁스 선정, 민간 후속 투자 유치까지 이어진 제주형 딥테크 성장 모델”이라며 “앞으로도 유망 창업기업이 지역을 넘어 글로벌 시장으로 성장할 수 있도록 투자와 기술사업화, 후속 투자 연계를 더욱 강화하겠다”고 말했다.

The Jeju Center announced that SPEX, a deep tech company based on hyperspectral technology, recently secured a follow-up investment totaling 3 billion won in a Pre-A round.

SPEX is a technology company that advances the entire process from observational data acquisition to processing and analysis by utilizing hyperspectral technology that precisely analyzes light wavelength information. From pre-startups to follow-up investment… Achievements in fostering Jeju-style deep tech

SPECS was first discovered through the Jeju Center’s Pre-Startup Package support program in 2024. Subsequently, it secured initial investment by being selected as the first recipient of the “Jeju Early-Stage Startup Incubation Fund,” jointly managed by the Jeju Center and MYSC. Following this, it was selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ Deep Tech TIPS program through a recommendation from the Jeju Center, receiving 1.5 billion won in R&D funding.

Based on this, the company has been pursuing the development of hyperspectral prototypes and the advancement of data processing technology, and through this Pre-A investment, it has secured the growth engine necessary for business expansion.

The Jeju Center evaluated this case as a representative achievement in which a local startup support agency supported the entire process, from identifying companies and securing investment to linking with government R&D and attracting follow-up investments.

An official from the Jeju Center explained, “This is a case where a company discovered during the pre-startup stage went through startup support, initial investment, Deep Tech TIPS recommendations, and follow-up investment linkages to attract private investment,” adding, “It is a meaningful achievement that demonstrates that local startup support organizations can connect the technology commercialization of deep tech companies with investment attraction.”

Lee Byeong-seon, CEO of the Jeju Center, said, “SPEX is a Jeju-style deep tech growth model that spans from discovering the Pre-Startup Package to the first investment, selection for Deep Tech TIPS, and attracting follow-up private investment,” adding, “We will further strengthen the linkage of investment, technology commercialization, and follow-up investment so that promising startups can grow beyond the region into the global market.”

「済州で発掘した宇宙ディープテック、投資で飛び上がる」…スペックス、フリーA 30億誘致

済州創造経済革新センター（以下、済州センター）が発掘して投資した宇宙航空ディープテックスタートアップスペックスが、フリーA後続投資誘致に成功し、成長可能性を立証した。済州センターは、超スペクトラル技術ベースのディープテック企業スペックスが最近、フリーAラウンドで合計30億ウォン規模の後続投資を誘致した。

今回の投資には、トライアングルパートナーズ、イアンベンチャーパートナーズ、ジェイエックスパートナーズが参加した。

スペックスは光の波長情報を精密に分析する超分光技術を活用し、観測データの取得から処理、分析まで全過程を高度化する技術企業だ。現在、宇宙航空と先端産業分野を中心に事業拡大を推進している。

予備創業から後続投資まで…済州型ディープテク育成成果

スペックスは2024年済州センター予備創業パッケージ支援事業を通じて初めて発掘された。その後、済州センターとエムワイソーシャルカンパニー（MYSC）が共同運用する「済州初期スタートアップ育成ファンド」の初投資企業に選定され、初期投資金を確保した。続いて済州センターの推薦を通じて中小ベンチャー企業部ディップテックチップス(TIPS)に選定され、研究開発費15億ウォンも支援された。

同社はこれを基に超分光試製品の開発とデータ処理技術の高度化を推進してきた。

済州センターは今回の事例を地域創業支援機関が企業発掘から投資、政府研究開発連携、後続投資誘致まで全過程を支援した代表的成果と評価した。

済州センター関係者は「予備創業段階で発掘された企業が創業支援と初期投資、ディープテクチップス推薦、後続投資連携を経て民間投資誘致まで続いた事例」とし「地域創業支援機関がディープテック企業の技術事業化と投資誘致を連結できるという点を説明した意味だ。

由济州创意经济创新中心（以下简称“济州中心”）发掘并投资的航空航天深科技初创公司SPEX，已成功获得Pre-A轮后续投资，证明了其增长潜力。济州中心宣布，SPEX是一家基于高光谱技术的深科技公司，近期在Pre-A轮融资中获得30亿韩元的后续投资。

SPEX est une entreprise technologique qui optimise l’ensemble du processus, de l’acquisition des données d’observation à leur traitement et analyse, grâce à la technologie hyperspectrale qui analyse avec précision les informations relatives à la longueur d’onde de la lumière. Elle poursuit actuellement son expansion commerciale, notamment dans les secteurs de l’aérospatiale et des hautes technologies.

Des pré-startups aux investissements de suivi… Des réussites dans la promotion des technologies de pointe à la Jeju

SPECS a été initialement repérée en 2024 grâce au programme d’accompagnement pré-startup du Jeju Center. Elle a ensuite obtenu un premier financement en étant sélectionnée comme première bénéficiaire du « Fonds d’incubation pour jeunes entreprises de Jeju », géré conjointement par le Jeju Center et le MYSC. Par la suite, sur recommandation du Jeju Center, elle a été retenue pour le programme Deep Tech TIPS du ministère des PME et des Startups et a reçu 1,5 milliard de wons de financement pour la R&D.

Sur cette base, la société a poursuivi le développement de prototypes hyperspectraux et le perfectionnement des technologies de traitement des données, et grâce à cet investissement de pré-série A, elle a sécurisé le moteur de croissance nécessaire à son expansion.

Le Centre de Jeju a évalué ce cas comme une réussite représentative dans laquelle une agence locale de soutien aux jeunes entreprises a accompagné l’ensemble du processus, depuis l’identification des entreprises et l’obtention d’investissements jusqu’à la mise en relation avec la R&D gouvernementale et l’attraction d’investissements ultérieurs.

Un responsable du Centre de Jeju a expliqué : « Il s’agit d’un cas où une entreprise découverte au stade de la pré-création a bénéficié d’un soutien au démarrage, d’un investissement initial, des recommandations de Deep Tech TIPS et de liens d’investissement ultérieurs pour attirer des investissements privés », ajoutant : « C’est une réalisation significative qui démontre que les organisations locales de soutien aux startups peuvent relier la commercialisation technologique des entreprises de deep tech à l’attraction des investissements. »

Lee Byeong-seon, PDG du Jeju Center, a déclaré : « SPEX est un modèle de croissance deep tech propre à Jeju qui couvre l’ensemble du processus, de la découverte du Pre-Startup Package au premier investissement, en passant par la sélection pour Deep Tech TIPS et l’attraction d’investissements privés ultérieurs. » Il a ajouté : « Nous allons renforcer davantage le lien entre l’investissement, la commercialisation des technologies et les investissements de suivi afin que les startups prometteuses puissent se développer au-delà de la région et accéder au marché mondial. »
