YouTube Music is testing a ‘Your week’ recap that judges your music taste
Source: Android Authority

TL;DR
- Some YouTube Music users have spotted a new profile banner that recaps their listening taste for the past seven days.
- The feature appears to use generative AI to write a short summary of the user’s music listening mood over the week.
- YouTube has not officially announced the feature yet, and it is currently visible only to a small number of users.
Feature overview
YouTube Music recently added a new AI Playlist feature that lets users generate playlists by describing what they want to hear. This isn’t the only AI work in progress; users have now spotted a “Your week” recap feature that potentially uses AI to summarize recent listening habits.
Discovery
Reddit user BarisberatWNR shared a screenshot of a new banner in YouTube Music’s profile section. The banner shows a Gemini‑like icon with the title Your week and includes an AI‑generated description of the user’s listening mood for the week, alongside featured album art.
How it appears
The banner shows up for some users when they open their profile via the profile photo in the top‑right corner and tap Your channel. Most users see sections such as Personal mix, On Repeat, and any public playlists they have. In the test group, an additional Your week section appears.
Comparison to previous AI Recap
YouTube Music previously integrated AI into its yearly Recap, allowing users to ask Gemini questions about their listening trends. The “Your week” feature differs by proactively providing an AI‑generated summary for a much shorter, weekly window.
Status
YouTube has not yet officially announced or detailed this section, suggesting it is currently a limited test. We have reached out to Google for more information and will update when a response is received.
