Valve’s New Steam Controller

Valve is finally releasing its updated Steam Controller on May 4. The new version features a layout that mirrors the familiar button configuration of the Steam Deck and supports Steam games on PC, the Steam Deck, and Steam Link on Android.

Mechanism Basegrip

Mechanism, known for its mounts and grips, has introduced a Basegrip designed specifically for the Steam Controller.

  • The Basegrip allows you to attach a phone using Mechanism’s phone mount.
  • Combined with the Steam Link app, you can stream your Steam library and create a makeshift Steam Deck. (Note: the Steam Link app isn’t fully compatible with all Android and iOS devices yet.)
  • The Basegrip will also work with Mechanism’s upcoming Steam Controller dock, which can display the controller and keep it charged. The dock is expected in June, with a waitlist available.
