Apple to Launch “MacBook Ultra” With These Six New Features
While the 14‑inch and 16‑inch MacBook Pro were just updated with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips last month, bigger changes are reportedly around the corner.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the higher‑end MacBook Pro models will receive a major redesign by early 2027, and Apple might use “MacBook Ultra” branding for them. If so, the MacBook Ultra would likely sit above the current MacBook Pro line as a higher‑priced, top‑of‑the‑line model.
Up to six new features have been rumored so far:
- OLED display
- Touch capabilities (including a Dynamic Island)
- M6 Pro and M6 Max chips manufactured on TSMC’s advanced 2 nm process
- Thinner overall design
- Built‑in cellular connectivity
Apple Has Given Up on the Vision Pro After M5 Refresh Flop
Apple has all but abandoned the Vision Pro after the M5 model failed to revive interest in the device, according to MacRumors. The Vision Pro was updated with a faster M5 chip and a more comfortable band in October 2025, but no other hardware changes were made, and consumer demand remained low.
Apple has reportedly stopped work on the Vision Pro, redistributing the team to other projects. Some former Vision Pro engineers are now working on Siri, a move that aligns with Vision Pro chief Mike Rockwell’s transition to lead the Siri team in March 2025.
Foldable “iPhone Ultra” Could Be Missing These 5 Key Features Despite $2,000 Price Tag
Apple’s first foldable iPhone, dubbed the “iPhone Ultra,” may lack at least five key features found on the iPhone 18 Pro models, even with a projected $2,000 price point.
Recent images of dummy models shared by Sonny Dickson and Vadim Yuryev reveal two previously undisclosed missing features: MagSafe and the Action Button. In addition, rumors have long suggested the absence of Face ID, a telephoto camera lens, and other functionalities.

This model lets developers offer the discounted pricing typically associated with an annual plan while collecting payments on a monthly basis, making the cost more affordable for users.
Key points
- Subscribers can cancel at any time; the subscription will not renew after the agreed‑upon payments are completed.
- The new subscription type will be available worldwide except the United States and Singapore (at least initially).
20th Anniversary iPhone to Feature Custom “Micro‑Curved” OLED Panel
For its 20th‑anniversary iPhone, Apple is reportedly working with Samsung to produce a custom micro‑curved OLED display that is brighter and thinner than existing panels. Supply‑chain information from China suggests Apple is considering a radical redesign featuring a completely bezel‑less display that curves around all four edges.
Samsung is said to be developing an equal‑depth quad‑curved panel that uses “micro‑curves” to keep the curvature shallow, contrasting with the aggressive “waterfall” edges of some current Samsung panels.
