TL;DR

  • Screenshot Analyzer on the Galaxy S26 series sorts your screenshots into categories.
  • It’s built into the Gallery, making it easy to access.
  • Screenshot Analyzer lets you quickly go back to the source of some screenshots.

AI‑powered Screenshot Analyzer

As we’ve come to expect in modern smartphone launches, new AI features take center stage. The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is marketed as an “AI phone,” and one of its AI tools—Screenshot Analyzer—outshines a similar feature on Google’s Pixel phones.

Screenshot Analyzer scans all of your screenshots and categorizes them with Galaxy AI. Categories include:

  • Social media
  • Boarding passes
  • Coupons
  • Chats
  • Barcodes and QR codes
  • …and more

Once you locate a screenshot, the feature can return you to its source. For web‑page screenshots this already works, and Samsung says it will also handle conversation screenshots, though it hasn’t clarified whether it will open the relevant app or jump to the specific chat.

Google introduced a comparable feature with the Pixel 9 series, but it lives in a separate Pixel Screenshots app (review), which is less convenient. Samsung avoids that pitfall by integrating Screenshot Analyzer directly into the Gallery, where you already manage your screenshots.

It’s not yet clear whether Screenshot Analyzer is exclusive to the S26 launch or will roll out to existing devices via a One UI 8.5 update. Hopefully, it will be the latter.
