Overview

Chinese phonemaker vivo recently showcased its camera ambitions with the global launch of the X300 Ultra. The company is now reportedly working on its next flagship—a foldable that may sport a larger battery than any other book‑style device and possibly a new 200 MP camera.

Leaker Digital Chat Station hinted at the specifications of the upcoming foldable, likely called the vivo X Fold 6. According to the leak, vivo plans to switch from Qualcomm to MediaTek for its foldable chipset. While the vivo X Fold 5 used a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Fold 6 could adopt a Dimensity 9500, the same chip powering the X300 lineup.

• Capacity: 7,000 mAh, about 69 % larger than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7.
• For comparison, the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to have a 5,000 mAh battery, still far behind vivo’s figure.

Vivo previously introduced silicon‑carbon technology for the 6,000 mAh battery pack in the Fold 5. It is likely that the same technology will be used for the 7,000 mAh unit. Wireless charging support is expected to continue, though charging speeds have not been disclosed.

The leak mentions a 20 MP primary rear camera, which appears to be a typo. Other sources, including the alias Bald Panda on Weibo, suggest a 200 MP main sensor. If true, the X Fold 6 would retain the existing 50 MP ultrawide and 50 MP telephoto lenses, while adding a 200 MP primary shooter. A 20 MP selfie camera on both the inner and outer displays is also expected.

Displays

• Inner display: Slight reduction from 8.03 in to 8.02 in.
• Outer display: Slight reduction from 6.53 in to 6.51 in.

These changes may be reporting errors, and the actual sizes could remain unchanged.

Water & Dust Resistance

The leaker notes that the X Fold 6 could retain full water resistance, similar to its predecessor, which featured IP58 and IP59+ ratings. The exact dust‑resistance level remains unclear.

Availability

No official launch date has been confirmed. Based on previous patterns, the X Fold 6 might be announced around July, potentially before the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
