TL;DR
- Luna, the maker of smart rings, will launch its first screenless fitness band in July.
- The company revealed the design of the Luna Band at CES 2026.
- Unlike Fitbit Air or WHOOP, the Luna Band is expected to work without a subscription.
Background
Over the last few years, the fitness‑tracker market has shifted toward obscure or distraction‑free form factors, such as smart rings and screen‑less smart bands. Google recently entered the segment, previously dominated by WHOOP, with the Fitbit Air. As the screenless smart band starts shipping to early adopters, another brand appears to be gearing up to launch a rival.
Luna, best known for its eponymous smart ring, is now launching a new screenless fitness tracker, similar to the WHOOP band or the newly launched Fitbit Air. The product, first unveiled at CES 2026 as the Luna Band, is now being prepared for launch.

A promotional microsite for the Luna Band highlights several upcoming features. According to Luna, the band will track activity, sleep, and other health data, and will also let users log food intake, supplements, recent bloodwork, and other medical information.
Design and Materials
- Strap: Broader than the Fitbit Air, more in line with WHOOP’s aesthetic.
- Colors & Materials: Multiple color options and textures, including a metal buckle.
- Comfort: Uses hypoallergenic materials for long, sweaty sessions.
Software and Integration
The Luna Band runs on Luna’s LifeOS, the same platform that powers the Ring 2. Key capabilities include:
- Integration with third‑party apps such as Siri, Gemini, and other fitness services.
- Custom “agentic” workflows for handling special data.
- Scheduling tools and haptic alerts.
Luna recently introduced voice‑based controls for the Ring 2, allowing users to log workouts via Siri (iPhone) or Gemini (Android). CNET reports that similar voice functionality is planned for the Luna Band, though it’s unclear whether the device will include an in‑line microphone.
Battery Life and Availability
- Battery: Up to 10 days on a single charge.
- Pre‑orders: Begin on July 4.
- Shipping: Starts on July 31.
- Pricing & Subscription: No subscription required, unlike WHOOP or Fitbit Air. Pricing details have not yet been disclosed.
Further updates will be shared as Luna releases more information about the band’s features and pricing.
