Overview
Logitech’s newest flagship keyboard, the G512 X, packs a range of advanced components that make it one of the most configurable gaming keyboards to date. It’s offered in both 75 % and 98 % layouts and combines mechanical and analog switch technologies.
Design and Switch Options
- Keycaps & Mechanical Switches – Every key comes with PBT keycaps and Logitech’s MX mechanical switches right out of the box.
- Analog Switch Support – Up to nine bundled Gateron KS‑20 magnetic analog switches can be swapped in for key clusters such as WASD.
- TMR Switch Beds – The left side of the keyboard features 39 tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) switch beds that work with the analog switches, enabling rapid triggers and multipoint actuation.
- SAPP Rings – Five bundled second‑actuation pressure‑point (SAPP) rings are included for finer control over each keystroke.
- Limitation – TMR switch beds are only on the left side, so keys on the right lack the same analog configurability.
Performance
- 8 K Polling Rate – The keyboard reports and processes input at an 8 kHz rate, delivering an input latency of just 0.125 ms.
Additional Features
- Dual Dials & RGB Lightbar – Two programmable dials and a large front‑mounted RGB lightbar can be customized via Logitech’s G Hub app.
- Adjustable Feet – The feet double as keycap and switch pullers, eliminating the need for separate tools.
- Built‑in Storage – Dedicated compartments store the nine magnetic analog switches and five SAPP rings.
- Optional Transparent Palm Rest – A laser‑etched palm rest enhances the RGB lighting effect (sold separately).
