As usual, Google is at MWC 2026 in Barcelona with its Android Avenue setup, featuring a host of adorable little Android figures building an Android sign and offering a chance to try Google’s Android XR glasses.
Android figures at MWC 2026
Google’s Android Avenue booth is dotted with custom Android figures in various construction roles—painting, building, climbing scaffolding, and more. One huge display shows the figures assembling an Android sign, complete with window washers on a motorized platform.

Figures also appear in other demo booths, such as those for Gemini video generation and Android XR.

The Android XR section is the highlight of Google’s presence this year. Live demos showcase both the Galaxy XR and Google’s prototype XR glasses, which were first shown at I/O. MWC’s larger audience makes this the biggest demo of the glasses to date.
This was my first time using Google’s Android XR monocular AI glasses, and I’m pretty impressed. The experience feels simple and intuitive, with a great display. The monocular design is a bit odd as the brain compensates for seeing the image in only one eye, but it’s far better than any other smart glasses I’ve tried. The software is slick, featuring smooth animations and deep integration with Google services and Gemini. The hardware feels solid; the touchpad interactions work well, and the speakers sound great despite not being final.
I’m already excited and consider myself first in line to buy a pair.

Google’s MWC 2026 setup is located between Hall 2 and Hall 3 at the Fira Center. Expect a long line for the AI glasses demo, so arrive early!
