Google’s Calling Cards finally catch up to Apple’s Contact Posters with latest feature
Source: Android Authority

TL;DR
- Google is adding more personalization to Android’s Calling Card feature.
- You can now create your own custom Calling Card that your friends will see when you call them.
- You can choose to share your card with everyone or limit it to just your contacts.
Google rolled out Calling Card — Android’s take on Apple’s Contact Posters feature — in August last year. While it was a nice touch to give the calling screen some personality, it lacked some important features. The chief limitation was that users could not set their own Calling Card. Google has now corrected that with its latest update.
Calling Card lets you spruce up the incoming call screen with a picture of the person calling you, along with stylized text you select. Previously, you could create Calling Cards for friends and family, but you couldn’t create a custom card for yourself.
An APK teardown in October revealed that Google was working on allowing users to create their own card that would appear on their contacts’ devices. The rollout timeline was unclear then, but the capability is now live.
What’s new
- Custom photo, font, and font color – Choose a picture and style for your own caller ID.
- Visibility controls – Decide whether everyone can see your card or only your contacts.
- Edit or remove anytime – Update or delete your card whenever you like.
The next time you make a call, the recipient will see the photo and text you selected for your card.
This update is part of today’s broader Android ecosystem changes. For example, Find Hub now lets you share a link with participating airlines if you need help locating luggage that has a tracker tag.
