Announcement
Spotify has today announced a redesigned app for tablet users which, thankfully, also works on Android foldables – just not all of them.
Announced on Spotify’s blog, For The Record, the new tablet app is now widely available to all Spotify users. The redesign started appearing a few months ago for some users, but as of today it’s official.
The redesign is built specifically for tablets rather than “simply scaling up mobile components.” Most of the UI feels familiar, but the main change is a dedicated panel on the right‑hand side for Now Playing, while other elements remain on the left. A button still allows Now Playing to go fullscreen. The bottom navigation bar has also been split into two sections.

Foldable support
The new UI is also available on several Android foldables, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Honor Magic V6, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It does not appear on the Oppo Find N6, likely due to optimization, aspect‑ratio, or screen‑density differences.
