User Growth
Spotify announced that it reached 751 million total monthly active users (MAUs) for Q4 2025, an 11 % increase year‑over‑year and a notable rise from the third quarter’s 713 million MAUs.
Premium Subscribers
The quarterly earnings report showed a 10 % year‑over‑year increase in Premium subscribers, growing from 263 million to 290 million.
- Europe accounts for the largest share of premium subscribers (36 %).
- North America follows with 25 % of the premium base.
AI Initiatives
Spotify attributes part of its growth to AI. Co‑CEO Gustav Söderström said:
“We consider ourselves the R&D department for the music industry. Our job is to understand new technologies quickly and capture their potential, which we’ve done time and again. The entire industry stands to benefit from this AI paradigm shift, but we believe those who embrace this change and move fast will benefit the most.”
In late 2025, Spotify announced plans to remove some of the AI “slop” from its platform and focus on “artist‑first AI music products,” though details remain vague.
Spotify Wrapped
Spotify claims that the December Wrapped campaign was larger than ever, with over 300 million engaged users and 630 million shares across 56 languages.
