Last week Sony teased new WH‑1000XX “ColleXion” headphones arriving on May 19, promising that “a masterpiece awaits.” Previous leaks, including an image of F1 actor Damson Idris wearing the cans, suggested that Sony was preparing a luxury version of its popular WH‑1000 series. A new leak from @onleaks and HotEUDeals now shows the headphones from multiple angles and reveals key specs and features.
Design
- Materials: Metal accents and thick padding on the headband and earcups give the ColleXion a more premium look than other XM models.
- Color options: White or black. The black version uses black metal accents instead of chrome.
- Accessories: Includes a four‑foot 3.5 mm cable and a sculpted carrying case with a built‑in handle and magnetic catch.
- Additional touches: Redesigned ear‑pad buttons and microphone grilles.
Technical specifications
- Battery life: Up to 24 hours with active noise cancellation (ANC).
- Microphones: Six‑microphone AI beamforming system.
- Noise cancellation: Adaptive noise‑cancellation optimizer.
- Sound quality: Marketed as “studio‑grade.”
If the leak is accurate, the ColleXion will retail for $649, roughly $200 more than Sony’s current flagship WH‑1000XM6. While expensive, it could appeal to buyers considering other high‑end options such as Bowers & Wilkins luxury headphones.
