XLR microphone owners, rejoice: Shure’s successor to the MVX2U Digital Audio Interface (DAI) brings the adapter into the mobile era. The compact MVX2U Gen 2 adds more advanced onboard audio processing, and its most notable upgrade is mobile device compatibility, so you’re no longer limited to desktop use.

Features

  • Built‑in pop filter (Shure calls it “Popper Stopper”) to soften harsh plosives.
  • Stores your last‑used audio processing settings, preserving them across device or software changes.
  • Improved noise floor, headphone amp, and DAC compared to the previous model.

Compatibility

  • Includes a 1 m (3.3 ft) USB‑C to USB‑C cable, enabling quick connection to phones, tablets, or PCs.
  • Fully compatible with mobile devices as well as desktop computers.

Pricing and Availability

  • The Shure MVX2U Gen 2 is available for $139 directly from the Shure website.
