Separate the Cord from the Device

Why Not Make All Electrical Devices Modular?
- Your printer’s power cable can be detached from the printer.
- You can also remove the power cable from a computer—whether it’s a laptop, desktop, or tower.
Given these examples, why shouldn’t the same modular principle be applied to all electrical appliances?
- Convenience: When cleaning a microwave or toaster oven, you shouldn’t have to wrestle with a permanently attached cord.
- Kitchen appliances: Coffee bean grinders, mixers, and similar devices would be much easier to manage if their cords could be detached.
- Accessibility: Reaching behind a crowded countertop to unplug appliances is cumbersome; detachable cords would simplify the process.
