Overview

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro at its Galaxy S26 Unpacked event, rolling out the new lineup just a year after the previous release. The earbuds feature a refreshed design, upgraded sound quality, improved active noise cancellation (ANC), and several new software features. Full functionality is optimized for recent Samsung phones.

Design

  • The “blade” design from earlier models is retained but reworked: the angular shape and gimmicky lights have been replaced with a flat metal panel.
  • Pinch‑control areas are now engraved for easier finger placement.
  • Samsung analyzed data from hundreds of millions of ear measurements and ran over 10,000 simulations to improve fit.
  • The Galaxy Buds 4 remain an open‑fit design, while the Pro version adds a seal‑forming tip.
  • Both models keep the transparent charging‑case lids, but the earbuds now lie flat inside the case rather than standing upright.

Audio Performance

  • The Buds 4 Pro uses a wider woofer in a two‑way driver setup for cleaner bass, paired with a dedicated tweeter for natural, rich treble.
  • Both models support high‑resolution audio up to 24‑bit/96 kHz (when paired with a recent Samsung device).
  • Direct multi‑channel 360° audio is also available.

ANC and Smart Features

  • ANC upgrades: While the Pro model receives the bulk of the improvements, both earbuds now block transit noises (buses, trains, planes) and everyday background sounds more effectively.
  • Ambient Sound Mode, Adaptive EQ, and Adaptive ANC automatically adjust to the listening environment.
  • The Pro can detect the user’s voice, temporarily raising ambient sound for conversations and resuming ANC when the user stops speaking.
  • Siren Detect (Pro only) activates ambient sound to let users hear safety alerts such as alarms or emergency vehicle sirens.
  • Head‑gesture controls let users manage calls and interact with Bixby by nodding or shaking their head side‑to‑side.
  • Integration with Samsung’s AI assistants (Bixby, Gemini, Perplexity) enables hands‑free voice control.

Pricing and Availability

  • Galaxy Buds 4: $180
  • Galaxy Buds 4 Pro: $250

Both models are available for pre‑order now and will ship on March 11. Color options include black, white, and a Samsung‑exclusive pink‑gold finish.
