Nintendo has cut the price of its Mario‑themed Samsung microSD Express card (256 GB) just in time for Mario Day. The usual $59.99 price tag has dropped to $39.99 at several major retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, and Walmart.
While most Switch 2 game downloads are reasonably sized—Nintendo’s first‑party titles typically stay under 20 GB (Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, for example, is just 6.2 GB)—some titles can exceed 50 GB. If you’re running low on storage on the Switch 2’s internal 256 GB SSD, this deal is worth considering.
Where to Buy
| Retailer | Regular Price | Sale Price |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon | $59.00 | $39.00 (256 GB) |
| Best Buy | $59.99 | $39.99 (256 GB) |
| Walmart | $59.00 | $39.00 (256 GB) |
Compatibility Note
All models of the Samsung microSD Express card offer the same read and write speeds, so the primary differences are capacity and price. Keep in mind that microSD Express cards are only compatible with the Switch 2. Standard microSD cards that work with the original Switch will not function in the newer console for storing or playing games.
