Former cryptocurrency poster boy Sam Bankman‑Fried has filed a request for a new trial, arguing that fresh witness testimony could change the case against him. The motion was reported by Bloomberg. His chances of securing the retrial—where he would represent himself—appear slim. This request is separate from a formal appeal of his earlier conviction.

Bankman‑Fried is among several cryptocurrency executives who have faced fraud prosecutions.
