John Wick Game Unveiled
The billion‑dollar action film series John Wick is being turned into a video game, featuring the likeness and voice of star Keanu Reeves.
Untitled John Wick Game (working title) will be developed by Saber Interactive, the studio behind Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, with input from film franchise director Chad Stahelski.
A trailer, expected to be a prequel to the film series, was unveiled at PlayStation’s State of Play showcase.
“We’re honoured to be working alongside Stahelski and Reeves to bring the world of Wick to life in a AAA game,” said Matthew Karch, chief executive at Saber Interactive.
The studio says the story will be an original one tailored for mature audiences, featuring both returning characters and new faces.
“We hope to capture the unparalleled action and brand‑defining fight choreography of the films,” said Jenefer Brown, president of global products at John Wick producer Lionsgate.
The game will be the first John Wick title voiced by Reeves, although the actor is no stranger to gaming, having portrayed Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077.
Some observers have questioned what the project means for Saber’s long‑awaited remake of the classic Star Wars game Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR).
Christopher Dring, editor‑in‑chief and co‑founder of The Game Business, described the project as a “strong match‑up of genre, intellectual property (IP) and developer,” noting that Saber operates as “a collection of studios working across multiple IPs” and can release “multiple games a year across all different genres”.
