Release Information
The indie rhythm game Ratatan is set to release on July 16 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It has been available on PC since September as an early‑access title.
Nintendo Switch Decision
The original Switch is not included in the launch lineup. As the developers explained in a Steam post:
“At this time, we have determined that the multiplayer experience on Nintendo Switch has not yet reached the quality level we aim to deliver. As a result, we have decided not to proceed with a Nintendo Switch version for now.”
Development Background
Ratatan was first showcased at Summer Games Fest 2025. The game is developed by Ratata Arts, a studio that includes several members from the team behind the Patapon series (which began in 2007). This heritage is evident in the core concept and the demanding precision required to keep your army of Cobuns in sync with the beat. Ratatan also incorporates roguelite and RPG customization elements alongside its rhythm‑based gameplay.
