Play Store subscriptions start keeping track of Play Points
Source: Android Authority

TL;DR
- Google Play users can earn Play Points in a number of ways, including through their active subscriptions.
- While you’ve been able to see where individual additions to your Play Points have come from, there hasn’t been a place for all subscriptions.
- The Play Store is revising its subscription page to easily track all this data.
Overview
Beyond just helping you discover and install new apps, Google’s Play Store can also facilitate unlocking new content within those apps via its subscription management tools. In the latest update, Google is tweaking the subscription view to better emphasize key data, including Play Points.
New subscription summary
In version 50.2.11-31 of the Play Store for Android, some users are seeing a new summary at the top of the subscriptions screen. This summary shows:
- The total number of active subscriptions.
- A tally of how many Play Points you’ve earned as a result.

Play Points visibility
Previously, the Play Store’s history feature let you track your Points totals and view individual entries for subscriptions, but you had to tally the subscription‑related points yourself. The new summary provides a convenient, at‑a‑glance number for the points earned through subscriptions.
Mixed messaging
While the new subscription view highlights Play Points, another part of the app appears to be downplaying them. The profile switcher, which previously displayed a running Play Points total on the left, now replaces that display with a message directing you elsewhere to check your Play Points. This message occupies more space than the old view did, sending a somewhat contradictory signal about the importance of Play Points.
Conclusion
Overall, the updated subscription view is a welcome improvement, even if the handling of Play Points elsewhere in the app is a bit mixed. Keep an eye out for these changes on your device soon.
