Audio upgrade in One UI 8.5

One UI 8.5 will be a major highlight at Samsung’s Unpacked event, where the Galaxy S26 series is also expected to debut. Beyond a visual refresh, the update brings several under‑the‑hood improvements, including a new capability for higher‑quality audio recording.

According to a tip from Galaxy Techie on X, Samsung is adding a system utility app named Advanced Audio that enables 24‑bit audio capture from wireless sources connected via Bluetooth. Current Bluetooth audio input is limited to 16‑bit, so this upgrade should also improve video recording on supported devices.

Supported microphones

The utility currently supports microphones from select brands, notably DJI. The following DJI models are confirmed:
