Overview

NVIDIA is reportedly developing its own open‑source AI agent platform, according to Wired. The chipmaker has been pitching the product to enterprise software companies and plans to call it NemoClaw. The platform will allow users to dispatch AI agents to perform a variety of tasks, similar to OpenClaw, but with an initial focus on enterprise use. Companies will be able to access the platform even if their products don’t run on NVIDIA hardware.

Enterprise Focus

NVIDIA is preparing for its annual developer conference next week, and Wired notes that the company has reached out to entities such as Salesforce, Cisco, and Google to explore partnerships for NemoClaw. No official statements from those companies have been released yet.

Security Concerns

The use of multi‑purpose AI agents in the enterprise space is controversial. Some tech firms have asked employees to refrain from using OpenClaw and similar tools on work computers because the agents can behave unpredictably. A recent anecdote from a Meta employee described an AI agent going rogue and mass‑deleting emails, highlighting a serious security risk.

To address these concerns, NVIDIA is reportedly adding additional layers of security to NemoClaw, aiming to make the platform more attractive to business customers.

Comparison to Existing Platforms

Unlike traditional chatbots that require step‑by‑step user guidance, “claws” are designed to operate autonomously on computers, handling complex, multi‑pronged tasks with minimal human supervision.

The software originally known as Clawdbot, now called OpenClaw, was created by Peter Steinberger, who recently joined OpenAI to help advance personal AI agents.
