New V‑Bucks Bundle Prices
Epic Games is adjusting the conversion rate for Fortnite’s digital currency, V‑Bucks. While bundle price points remain the same, the amount of V‑Bucks you receive per bundle is decreasing as of March 19.
| Bundle Price | New V‑Bucks Amount | Previous Amount |
|---|---|---|
| $8.99 | 800 V‑Bucks | 1,000 V‑Bucks |
| $22.99 | 2,400 V‑Bucks | 2,800 V‑Bucks |
| $36.99 | 4,500 V‑Bucks | 5,000 V‑Bucks |
| $89.99 | 12,500 V‑Bucks | 13,500 V‑Bucks |
Exact Amount Pack
The “Exact Amount Pack,” which lets you purchase the precise number of V‑Bucks needed for a specific item, is also changing:
- Previously: ~ $0.50 for 50 V‑Bucks
- New price: $0.99 for 50 V‑Bucks
Regional Pricing and Epic Rewards
- The new V‑Bucks prices are U.S.-specific and will vary in other regions.
- Through the Epic Rewards program, you receive a 20 % rebate on purchases made in Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League when using the Epic Games Store or Epic’s payment system (Android, iOS, PC, or web).
- This rebate translates to cash‑back values ranging from $1.79 (for the $8.99/800 V‑Bucks bundle) up to $17.99 (for the $89.99/12,500 V‑Bucks bundle), which can be spent in Fortnite or the Epic Games Store.
Impact on Battle Passes and Fortnite Crew
- Standard Battle Pass: now costs 800 V‑Bucks and awards 800 V‑Bucks (down from 1,000 V‑Bucks).
- OG Pass (throwback mode): reduced from 1,000 V‑Bucks to 800 V‑Bucks.
- Music Pass and Lego Pass: each lowered from 1,400 V‑Bucks to 1,200 V‑Bucks.
- Fortnite Crew subscribers: monthly V‑Bucks stipend decreased from 1,000 V‑Bucks to 800 V‑Bucks.
Epic’s Rationale
Epic states the adjustments are necessary because “the cost of running Fortnite has gone up a lot,” and the price changes help cover those expenses. Additionally, recent legal victories against Apple and Google give Epic greater control over directing users to its own payment system, reducing reliance on app‑store fees and potentially increasing revenue per transaction.
