Showcase Details
Nintendo has scheduled an Indie World Showcase livestream for tomorrow, March 3, at 9 AM ET. The company says the event will include “roughly 15 minutes of news and updates on indie games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.” Indie trailers are typically short, so the limited runtime is expected.
What We Might See
- Potential big reveal: There’s speculation about the previously announced Sea of Sorrow DLC for Silksong.
- Trailers and updates: More likely, we’ll see trailers for a variety of indie titles, possibly including:
- Scott Pilgrim EX – a new side‑scrolling fighter with four‑player co‑op and music by Anamanaguchi. The game will be available for download tomorrow, so a launch trailer is probable.
- Witchbrook – a long‑gestating life‑sim set in a magical school, published by Chucklefish (the original publisher of Stardew Valley).
Reference to the Previous Showcase
The last Indie World Showcase, held in August, featured trailers and announcements for titles such as:
- Ball x Pit – praised for its excellent gameplay.
- Mina the Hollower – Yacht Club Games indicated a console launch this spring, suggesting a possible release‑date announcement.
What We Probably Won’t See
- No Nintendo Direct‑style reveals: This is an Indie World Showcase, not a full Nintendo Direct.
- No major franchise appearances: Expect no Mario or Zelda appearances unless they appear as DLC in an indie game.
- Unlikely Pokémon focus: The stream is not expected to spotlight Pokémon Pokopia, despite its life‑sim launch on March 5.
