Netflix is rolling out an overhaul of its iPhone app today, as previously announced, with a redesign centered around a vertical video feed called Clips. Here’s what’s new.
Netflix’s iPhone app changes navigation design, adds vertical video feed

We’re rolling out a new mobile experience that makes it faster, easier, and more fun to find something you’ll love to watch, listen to, or play.
Last year, we updated our TV experience for the first time in more than a decade. Now we’re bringing that same focus on simplicity and delight to mobile. The new design puts what you care about front and center, with streamlined navigation and a visual, vertical discovery experience that feels right at home on your phone.
Key changes
- The top navigation bar has been expanded to feature more options.
- The bottom tab bar has been revamped, dropping the New & Hot tab and adding dedicated tabs for Search and Clips.
- Clips is the new vertical video feed and the single biggest change in today’s redesign.
Clips is Netflix’s new vertical video feed

“Think of ‘Clips’ as a personalized highlight reel that helps you decide what to watch or play next, without endless scrolling.”
How Clips can be used
- Add to ‘My List’ – See something you like? Add movies and shows straight to your list from the feed.
- Share – Use the arrow at the bottom to share recommendations via text or social media directly from the feed.
- Explore – Browse a world of entertainment personalized to help you decide what to press play on next, whether you’re planning a family movie night or just need a good laugh.
Netflix says this is just the start of its vertical video ambitions. Clips will later be expanded to include podcasts, live programming, and collections based on genres or specific interests.
The new iPhone app design is rolling out today in a variety of launch countries, including the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, and South Africa. It will launch everywhere else in the months ahead.
