Overview
MSI (via Hermitage Akihabara) will launch two new motherboards that use AMD’s last‑generation AM4 socket: the Pro B550M-B and the B550M‑A Pro. While they aren’t aimed at winning beauty contests or topping “best motherboard” lists, they provide a budget‑friendly option for gamers facing a global RAM shortage, as DDR4 remains cheaper than DDR5.
Memory Support
Both boards feature 2 DDR4 DIMM slots, supporting up to 64 GB (2 × 32 GB). Memory speeds depend on the CPU’s integrated memory controller, with support up to DDR4‑4600 and potentially higher on processors with strong IMCs.
