Motorola MA2 wireless Android Auto adapter arrives at a lower price

After leaking in regulatory documents earlier this year, the Motorola MA2 wireless Android Auto adapter has quietly made its debut, with a much lower price point.

Background: Motorola MA1

Motorola MA1 was the first wireless Android Auto adapter approved by Google and has been a solid option for users. It originally launched for $90, but after numerous price cuts over the past few years it is now available for around $40 on Amazon:

New MA2 features

A new version of the adapter, Motorola MA2, hit the FCC recently with two main changes:

  • Removal of the built‑in cable – replaced with a USB‑C port.
  • Physical switch on the side and a full hardware redesign.

The device is now official. Android Authority spotted the Motorola MA2 on the sidelines of MWC 2026, with Motorola indicating:

  • A launch in May for some regions.
  • A U.S. launch in Q3 2026.
  • An expected retail price of around $40, matching the lowered price of the MA1.
