MacOS 26.4 Adds Warnings For ClickFix Attacks to Its Terminal App

Overview
An anonymous Slashdot reader notes that ClickFix attacks are on the rise. These attacks trick users into copying and pasting a string into a command‑line interface—such as the Windows Run dialog or a shell prompt—to execute malicious commands.
According to a report from MacRumors (link), macOS 26.4 “Tahoe,” released earlier this week, adds a new security feature to its Terminal app. The feature detects potential ClickFix attempts and prompts the user before executing the pasted command.
The warning displayed in Terminal reads:
Possible malware, Paste blocked.
Your Mac has not been harmed. Scammers often encourage pasting text into Terminal to try and harm your Mac or compromise your privacy…
If the user still wishes to run the command, a “Paste Anyway” option is provided.
