iPhone 17e hands-on: nothing more, nothing less
Source: The Verge
Overview
Apple announced the $599 iPhone 17e earlier this week, and we got a chance to play with one for a few minutes at the company’s media “experience” in New York City.
Design and Display
The 17e is essentially a cheaper, simpler riff on the iPhone 17, replacing the stripped‑down iPhone 16e in Apple’s lineup. It is available in black, white, and pink. The main compromise is the display: a basic 6.1‑inch 60 Hz screen that lacks Dynamic Island, ProMotion, and other premium features. The only notable upgrade is Apple’s Ceramic Shield 2 coating, which improves scratch resistance.
Verdict
Overall, the iPhone 17e offers a familiar iPhone experience at a lower price point, with the trade‑off being a less advanced display.
